Off we go to Texas.
Week…6? of the new job, and we’re taking a week off to visit David and H’s parents in Texas. Work is (mostly) wrapped up for the week, and we’re roading it in the Expedition through Kansas just now, enroute to Oklahoma. Mamma Bear is anxious as pie to get all her Baden Bears back together in one hug. It was funny to see her excited and pressing the girls to rise, shower, and get a move on to grab a bite to eat before we hit the chilly road to head south.
Work progresses, although the closing cycle on Sales is longer than one might expect. Well, maybe it’s just as long as it always has been, but I’m learning it for the first time and seeing how long the process can be.
For one, finding out what a client needs AND recognizes as valuable AND is willing to pay for AND has explicit budget for do not match.
Clients will not recognize that what you can clearly see is what they need is what they really want.
Clients will not recognize that what you offer is just the solution.
Even clients who do agree that what you offer is valuable, they may not be willing to pay what YOU think you’re worth to get it…
Even when they do agree on price, timing and availability of budget may not line up.
Crap.
